There are bad days at work and then there’s this.
The Slasher Nurse is sharpening its instruments and staggering toward a March 27 release on The B Stream, dragging a body bag full of classic slasher energy behind it, and yes, it absolutely smells like cheap disinfectant and revenge.
The setup? Oh, it’s the good stuff. A prank goes sideways (because of course it does, when has a movie prank ever ended with hugs and Capri Suns?), someone ends up very dead, and another unfortunate soul gets a one-way ticket to the nearest institution. Fast forward a couple decades, and, SURPRISE, the patient is back, angry, and, apparently, having graduated top of their class in Advanced Stabby Things.
Cue the usual suspects: a group of people partying in a cabin like they’ve never seen a horror movie in their lives. You can practically hear the beer cans cracking open as fate loads the shotgun in the background.
And leading this blood drive? A masked nurse who looks like they wandered out of your worst post-surgery hallucination. We’re talking full-on “what if your caregiver had a vendetta and a flair for theatrical murder?” energy.
Written and directed by David Kerr, and starring Diana Prince, Felissa Rose, Beverly Randolph, Brian Bremer, Arianna Harris, Sawyer Williams, Chanda Rawlings, and Jim Krut, The Slasher Nurse looks stitched together from pure grindhouse DNA: revenge plot, masked killer, morally doomed partygoers, and (if the horror gods are kind) at least one kill so ridiculous it deserves a standing ovation and a slow.
So grab your popcorn, check your pulse, and maybe don’t trust anyone in scrubs for a couple hours.
Doctor’s orders.
