An exclusive trailer for Loner has crept out of the woods, and it’s got that familiar found footage promise: one person, one camera, and a decemt into madness that may only be imagined, but more than likely isn’t.
The film follows survival vlogger Angus Mattock, who heads into a remote wilderness retreat to film some peaceful nature content. You know, fresh air, scenic views, absolutely no ancient forces waiting to ruin your day. That illusion lasts about five minutes before things take a hard turn into “why did I come out here alone?” territory.
What starts as a chill outdoor escape quickly mutates into a full-blown nightmare, as Angus finds himself trapped and hunted by something that feels less like a creature and more like the land itself deciding it’s had enough of influencers.
Co-directed by Charlie Robb and Douglas Tawn (with Robb also starring and writing), Loner mixes the classic found footage tropes with a rwisred sense of humour that will keep you grinning while everything goes sideways. It’s already picked up a stack of festival awards, which is always a good sign that the suffering on screen is about to be of thr highest quality.
Loner hits Found TV on April 24, and the best part? It’s streaming free.
So yeah, go ahead. Take a relaxing trip into the wilderness. Bring a camera. Talk to yourself.
See how that works out.
