Jason Statham, the man, the myth, the entire fucking genre all of his own, is back, murdering the shit out of people once again.
This time, The Stath teams up with director Jean-François Richet for Mutiny, an action-thriller set to crash into theaters on August 21st, courtesy of Lionsgate.
Statham plays Cole Reed, a man who watches his billionaire boss get taken out right in front of him, only to be immediately framed for the whole thing. Cue the part where he stops asking nicely and starts breaking bones. Now on the run, Reed digs into a conspiracy that stretches way beyond a simple hit job, with the kind of global reach that usually ends in explosions and very violent deaths for anyone in his path.
The script comes from J.P. Davis and Lindsay Michel, while the cast stacks up with Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, Ramon Tikaram, Arnas Fedaravičius, Jason Wong, and Adrian Lester.
On the action side of things, the fights are being handled by Laurent Buson and Godefroy Ryckewaert, which is usually a good sign that things are going to get up close, personal, and deeply unpleasant for anyone not named Statham.
Mutiny lands August 21st.
He’s been framed, hunted, and backed into a corner. So naturally, he’s about to make that everyone else’s problem.
