Speed Demon is pulling into cinemas, digital, and VOD on May 31st, and the new trailer wastes no time turning a standard rail journey into a full-blown supernatural derailment.
Speed Demon stars Katie Cassidy as Sister Lu, a rebellious nun already having a rough time before things escalate into ‘possessed passengers and ancient evil’ territory. Sheโs joined by William H. Macy as Father Novak, because if youโre going to fight a demon on a moving train, you might as well bring someone who looks like heโs seen some shit.
A trip from Montreal to New York goes off the rails, literally and spiritually, when the demon Asmodeus decides to make the train its new hunting ground. What follows is full blown possession horror, as the passengers start dropping their like flies, and becoming unwilling vessels for Old Asmodeus’ evil machinations.
Lu ends up at the centre of it, dealing with a crisis of faith while also being handed the small task of performing an exorcism, on a train that is out of control Casey Jones, while everything, and everyone, around her is actively trying to kill her. Yeah… doubt that was covered in the training manual.
Behind the camera, Jon Keeyes directs from a script by Domenico Salvaggio, leaning into a mix of action and horror that doesnโt look interested in slowing down for breathers. Keeyes has described the film as a high-energy ride packed with effects, characters, and a story built to keep moving.
Speed Demon brings terror to a very confined space, with a very bad entity, and a group of people who picked the worst possible day to travel, on May 31st.
All aboard?
Nah, you’re alright, I’ll take the next one.
