Swedenโs shiny, high-voltage metal machine Metalite are back in full sci-fi mode, dropping a new music video for their latest single Starchild, and this oneโs got lasers in its DNA.
The track follows their recent signing to Perception and builds on the momentum of earlier single Our Time Has Come, pushing further into the world of their upcoming concept album Discovery.
Starchild leans hard into everything Metalite do best: big melodies, punchy riffs, and those glossy, futuristic synth layers that feel like theyโve been smuggled in from a spaceship dashboard. Itโs designed to pull you straight into the albumโs narrative, giving a clearer look at the larger story unfolding across Discovery.
The accompanying video doubles down on that approach, expanding the bandโs sci-fi aesthetic and turning the track into a full visual experience rather than just another single drop.
Behind it all, guitarist, producer, and band founder Edwin Premberg describes Starchild as a central piece of the albumโs concept, one that sticks to the bandโs core sound while nudging it into heavier territory.
According to Premberg, the goal was simple: keep the energy high, make it hit harder, and deliver something built for actual headbanging without losing the kind of chorus that gets stuck in your brain whether you like it or not.
With Discovery on the horizon, Starchild explodes into Metaliteโs expanding sonic universe. Itโs big, it’s bright, and itโs not interested in keeping things grounded.
