Sometimes bands tweak the formula. Maybe sharpen the edges, swap a pedal, call it evolution.
Einvigi chose to burn the whole thing to the ground and started again.
The Finnish Post-Black Metal outfit return with Stigma, a new single and video that doesnโt feel like a step forward so much as a full-scale rebirth. This isnโt refinement, itโs reconstruction, the sound of a band ripping itself apart to see whatโs left standing.
And it very nearly didnโt happen at all.
According to guitarist and songwriter P.G., the band had already completed work on their fourth album before pulling the plug entirely.
โAfter finishing the composition of the fourth album, I realized the direction was completely wrong and that everything had to be redone.โ
Thatโs not a minor course correction. Thatโs hitting the emergency brakes at full speed.
The result is Stigma, a track that marks a decisive shift in both sound and identity. One of the most immediate changes comes in the bandโs lyrical approach, moving from Finnish into English, opening the floodgates to something more direct, more confrontational, and harder to ignore.
But the transformation goes deeper than language.
Thereโs a clear sense of intent here; tighter, colder, more aggressive. Where Einvigi once leaned into atmosphere and slow-burning weight, Stigma feels like a sharp weapon, like every element has been stripped back and reforged with purpose. Itโs still rooted in Black Metal, but thereโs a modern edge cutting through it, something restless and unwilling to sit still.
If this is a sign of whatโs coming next, Einvigi havenโt just changed direction, theyโve crossed a line they have no interest in stepping back over.
Stigma is out now.
