Tooms, hailing from Limerick in the west of Ireland, have steadily evolved from their early days as Gaia into something heavier, stranger, and far more ambitious.
Formed around bassist Anto Donnellan, drummer Kieran Grace, and guitarist/vocalist Alex Hรถlzinger, the trioโs early groundwork eventually crystallised into Tooms with the 2017 single Simon Ferocious, a track that helped set the tone for what would follow: sludge-drenched heaviness with a restless progressive streak constantly trying to break out from underneath it.
Their debut album The Orb Offers Massive Signals landed in 2020 via Cursed Monk Records, earning strong critical attention for its murky weight and immersive atmosphere. Since then, anticipation has quietly built around what would come next, and now that moment has arrived in the form of their second full-length, Karst.

And itโs immediately clear: this is not a repeat performance.
Tooms recorded Karst with longtime collaborator Chris Quigley at The Meadow Studios, before bringing in Matt Bayles (known for work with Isis, Mastodon and The Sword) for mixing, and Chris Fielding (Conan, Hooded Menace) for mastering.
Karst is set for release on May 29th across CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats via Road To Masochist, Cursed Monk Records, and Fiadh Productions.
