Belgian Speed Metal stalwarts Drakkar are officially joining forces with Wormholedeath for the release of their upcoming studio album, Invasion. The new record is slated to arrive on June 19th, marking a powerful new chapter for a band that has been a fixture of the European underground since 1983.โ€‹

To kick off the partnership, Drakkar has dropped a new single and video titled 666 ‘n’ Rock’n’ Roll (Tribute to Them). As the title suggests, the track is a high-octane salute to two of the genre’s greatest architects: Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy Kilmister.

Drakkarโ€™s history is woven into the very fabric of Belgian metal. Their 1988 debut, X-Rated, remains a cult classic, a release that famously saw them sharing stages with titans like Metallica, Slayer, and Queensrรฟche. After a lengthy hiatus, the band successfully clawed their way back into the spotlight in 2011, eventually releasing Once Upon a Time in Hell in 2014 and maintaining a relentless touring schedule.

โ€‹The road hasn’t been easy; the band faced a major blow with the passing of founding member Thierry Del Cane, but they chose to persevere in his honor. Invasion signals a significant homecoming for the lineup, featuring the return of vocalist Leni Andersen and founding bassist Guy Duvy. Adding to the legacy, the current kit is manned by Adrien Delgambe, the son of founding drummer Tim Delval, firmly anchoring the bandโ€™s future in its storied past.

Expect a masterclass in furious Heavy Metal when the full album lands this June.
