Dorset-based heavy outfit Bludwyrm are making a grime-streaked entry into the British underground with their upcoming debut EP, The Blissful Sleep Of Ignorance. Slated for release on June 5th, via Road To Masochist, the record will be available on both CD and cassette formats. To mark the announcement, the band has also unleashed a bleak visual pairing for the release with their new music video, Vultures, capturing the essence of their down-tuned sound.

Formed just last year amid the ancient woodlands and chalk downs of their home county, the band has quickly established a fierce reputation through a snarling mixture of soul-shaking Doom and Sludge Metal. Despite their short time together, the group has already carved out a significant presence on the live circuit, sharing stages with notable genre mainstays including Witchsorrow, Viking Skull, Mephistofeles, and Bile Caster.

The Blissful Sleep Of Ignorance channels a deliberately imperfect, emotionally raw energy, contrasting massive riffs with open-wounded vulnerability. The resulting collection of tracks moves away from traditional picturesque landscapes to deliver a heavy, bittersweet sonic environment that establishes Bludwyrm as one of the UK’s most promising new purveyors of slow-motion filth.
