Dark alt-metal visionaries Plague of Angels have officially dropped Pangea, the band’s heavy-hitting fifth single. The track dives deep into the fragmentation of modern human connection, tackling the stark irony of growing further apart in an increasingly hyper-connected digital world. To bring this weighty theme to life, the band opted for a slower, more brooding tempo than usual, balancing their signature aggression with haunting atmosphere and massive cinematic orchestration.
Adding some serious firepower to the release is metal guitar virtuoso Josh Middleton of Sylosis, who lends a dynamic guest solo to the track. The band noted that Middletonโs distinct phrasing and dynamics add an entirely new dimension to Pangea as it builds toward its emotional, explosive climax.
The single arrives alongside a cinematic music video designed to be an artistic extension of the music itself. Shunning the standard band-performance tropes, Plague of Angels delivered an evocative, darkly immersive visual companion that matches the song’s constant shifts between fragile intimacy and raw power. Pangea is out now across all major streaming platforms.
