Swedish solo project Gravvålnad has unveiled Dreams of Evernight, a brand new full-length offering built around expansive, long-form epic and atmospheric black metal compositions. Released through the reputable Northern Silence Productions, the album marks another chapter in the project’s dedicated focus on solitary, deeply immersive songwriting.
True to the absolute DIY spirit of the underground, the mastermind behind Gravvålnad worked entirely alone across every phase of the record. Handling all the music, lyrics, instrumentation, vocals, mixing, and mastering, they have shaped an album that leans heavily into meticulous pacing and rich melodic development. Production-wise, the record strikes a deliberate balance, keeping things raw enough to preserve a bleak, classic atmosphere while allowing the intricate melodic layers to remain clear.
Across its seven tracks, Dreams of Evernight moves through extended passages, slower transitions, and darker melodic themes that draw as much from epic heavy metal traditions as they do from atmospheric black metal. The album carries a strong sense of fantasy and ancient imagery throughout its structure, with tracks like The Return of 12 Ships, Cursed Sword, and Hill of Sorcery and Black Flames unfolding more like interconnected literary chapters than standalone songs. The immersive new record is available now.
