Helsinki-based modern metalcore outfit Ashes of Perishing have unleashed their crushing new single, Voidwalker, out now via Inverse Records. The track directly continues the bleak narrative established by their previous single, Rapture, plunging deeper into a thematic world of societal collapse, fracturing realities, and uncontrollable chaos. The release arrives at a monumental moment for the Finnish quintet, who are locked in to take the stage this coming weekend at the massive Tuska Festival in Finland.

Voidwalker functions as the voice of a moment in which everything has already been lost, painting a grim picture of a society falling apart where hope completely crumbles under the weight of silence. Rather than relying on abstract sci-fi concepts, the track acts as an intense emotional descent into humanityโ€™s internal collapse, using the metaphor of an inevitable fall into emptiness to capture a profound sense of isolation.

The single highlights the evolving sonic identity of the band since vocalist Oskar joined the lineup in 2024 alongside Philipp (bass), Joonas and Valtteri (guitars), and Olli (drums). Moving away from generic, over-sanitized metalcore tropes, Voidwalker balances devastatingly heavy rhythms with dark, melodic atmospheres that mirror the frantic panic of the lyrics. It delivers a fierce statement from a band rapidly carving out their own path in the modern heavy scene.
