After a brief hiatus following a massive 2023 run of dates supporting Deep Purple, Kiss, and Mr. Big, Latin American hard rock quartet QueenMilk have returned with their latest single, Hold the Fire.
The song draws its foundation from the heavy 1970s templates of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, built on anchoring basslines from Gonzalo Tejo and Allan Awerkinโs rhythms. Instead of keeping a flat beat, the rhythm section shifts through constant dynamic changes to back a vocal interplay between frontman Paulo Domic and backing vocalist Marcela Villarroel.
The track is a plea to keep a hidden connection alive. The time away from the studio allowed the band members to step back, a break that guitarist and founder Rodrigo Mora points out was essential for their return:
“The brief hiatus allowed the members to focus on outside projects while recharging the collective energy required for this heavy, renewed statement of principles.”
Hold the Fire captures that renewed energy directly, letting the raw instrumentation and classic rock roots carry the track.
