Orpheus Omega have paired the track Marionette with a new music video, drawing a close to the touring cycle for their recent album, Emberglow (Wormholedeath Records). The release signals a double transition for the Australian melodic death metal band, marking both a change in their creative environment and a lineup shift.
The band captured the footage inside their primary headquarters, a rehearsal and writing space they are vacating after 15 years and five albums. This physical move coincides with the departure of their long-term bandmate, Luke Ashley.
The group addressed both changes in a statement accompanying the video:
“Marionette was filmed at OO HQ whom we say goodbye to after 15 years of rehearsals and 5 albums of writing, signaling the end of the Emberglow album cycle and the move to the next phase of Orpheus Omega. It’s with this that we also give our biggest thank you and appreciation to Luke for his time in the band as he steps away from Orpheus Omega. Luke’s enigmatic presence and personality have imprinted on everyone he met during many tours and won’t go forgotten anytime soon.”
The video documents these final sessions, preserving a specific era of the band’s history before they begin work on their next material.
