Ecuadorian progressive metal outfit Minipony have returned with Pachanga, the explosive first single from their upcoming third studio EP, Detach. Slated for release on July 24 via Subsound Records, the new track arrives alongside an official music video directed by vocalist Emilia Moncayo, offering a concentrated dose of the trio’s chaotic and heavily experimental delivery.

The track showcases a striking balance of raw, organic instrumentation and technical, djent-driven aggression. The band builds an imposing wall of sound using dense, low-tuned guitars and highly intricate rhythms. Mixed by Jamie Uertz—well-known for his engineering work on Gojira’s landmark album Magma—the production carries a sharp, punishing clarity that highlights the band’s mathcore-leaning complexity.

The storytelling behind the single takes a sharp, metaphorical approach to a heavy subject, diving into the ethical contradictions between human consumerism and compassion for animals. The accompanying video mirrors this tension, framing a thin line between love and cruelty to ground the track’s intense vocal performance and crushing rhythmic shifts.

Detach marks the next chapter of growth for the Quito-based trio, functioning as a deliberate step forward into more complex sonic territory.
