Italian horror gothic metal outfit Madness of Sorrow have launched a new studio playthrough video for Infernal Ascension, the third single pulled from their studio record, The Silent Sovereign, which dropped late last year via Ad Noctem Records. Following a pair of highly theatrical music videos for their previous singles, the band has pivoted to a raw, performance-focused clip to highlight the sheer execution behind the track.

The video trades complex sets for vintage grain, sepia tones, and a stripped-back aesthetic that captures each musician performing within their respective studio spaces. The song delivers a massive dose of the band’s signature industrial aggression and groove-laden weight, channeling the stadium-sized darkness of genre pioneers like Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Ministry.

The overarching storytelling driving this project marks the next chapter in frontman Murihell’s conceptual universe. Since forming the project in 2011, the multi-instrumentalist has used his discography to track a running narrative centered on a demonic possession. With this album, the plot thickens into a direct homage to The Omen saga, following the possessed entity as it attempts to conquer the world by climbing the ruthless ranks of global politics.

Infernal Ascension offers a prime entry point into that dark concept, showcasing the band’s ability to fuse crushing rhythmic patterns with bleak, theatrical atmospheres. The new song and the rest of the album are available now across all major digital streaming platforms.
