UK funeral doom project Abysmal Growls Of Despair has unveiled a massive two-part music video for “Growth,” a standout track from the project’s latest album, Torn (out now via Wormholedeath). Due to the staggering length and slow-burning nature of the composition, mastermind Hangsvart (Lerat) opted to split the visual accompaniment into two distinct chapters to let the bleak, atmospheric narrative breathe.

While funeral doom is typically defined by sluggish tempos and walls of distorted guitar, Torn stands out by elevating brass instruments to the center of its melodic framework. This orchestral element lends a solemn, ritualistic weight to the track, layering funeral horns over tectonic guitar riffs and low-end drone.

The record features lyrics penned by Jörg Püschmann and is wrapped in striking cover art by Patrick Corcoran. Both parts of the video for “Growth” are streaming now, offering a deeply hypnotic, multi-sensory dive into the project’s darkest release yet.
