Greek progressive folk-rockers Villagers of Ioannina City have revealed Venceremos, the monumental title track and lead single from their upcoming studio album, arriving September 18th via Napalm Records.

On the new track, the band bypasses modern, polished production trends to deliver a song built on sheer scale and raw energy. Known for their hypnotic, slow-burning stoner-folk grooves, the band leans into a more direct and driving tempo here. They masterfully build tension, pairing soaring vocal melodies with a massive progressive payoff. Crucially, the band’s signature use of traditional Hellenic instrumentation—including bagpipes and zourna—is woven directly into the rhythmic foundation, clashing beautifully with thick, driving guitar riffs.

Thematically, Venceremos (Spanish for “We shall overcome”) marks an intriguing shift for the band. While their previous masterpiece Age of Aquarius focused on cosmic awakening and natural spirits, this new era tackles a starker narrative of exile, resistance, and human awakening in a controlled, fear-driven world.
