Swedish metal four-piece Sarcator have returned with The Ones We Follow, the blistering title track from their upcoming studio album, arriving October 30th via Reigning Phoenix Music. The single is accompanied by a sharp, high-energy performance video directed by F/53 Films.

Having already secured Grammis and P3 Guld award nominations in their home country, Sarcator are rapidly climbing the ranks of Scandinavia’s extreme music scene. While their earlier releases leaned heavily into razor-sharp blackened thrash, this new material showcases a band filtering their technical background through a much more direct, instinct-driven songwriting lens.

The band describes their evolving style as “death’s rock”—a volatile hybrid that lets d-beat punk energy, classic metal guitar harmonies, and gothic atmosphere exist in the same space. The Ones We Follow is the perfect proof of concept, stripping away bloated arrangements in favor of relentless tempo and immediate hooks.

“Choosing the first single can be a hard task,” says guitarist and vocalist Mateo Tervonen. “The approach here was not to choose the song that summarizes the album, but rather to give you a short and sweet appetizer in a primal, punk-fueled fashion. The Ones We Follow is a statement song that represents the creative restlessness of this band and the instinctual impulses you can either tune into or ignore. Let’s face it; nothing can go wrong with a song whose working title was ‘The Psychobilly Song.’”
