There aren’t many bands willing to describe themselves as playing “dissident death metal,” but Ireland’s Leadbelcher aren’t interested in taking the conventional route. Formed in 2024 by members and former members of bands including Sermon Of Flames, Mortichnia and Coscradh, the group will release their debut album, Heaven’s Bloated Corpse, on October 16 through Apocalyptic Witchcraft.
Drawing together death metal, grindcore and d-beat, Leadbelcher have built a sound rooted in raw aggression and nihilism rather than polished extremity. Their debut explores themes of corruption, decay and the collapse of institutions, matching abrasive riffs with an uncompromising approach that reflects the band’s self-described style.
Heaven’s Bloated Corpse was recorded and mixed by Josh Robinson at JSR Audio in Belfast before being mastered by James Plotkin. The album also features artwork by Adam Medford.
Heaven’s Bloated Corpse will be released on October 16 through Apocalyptic Witchcraft on limited-edition 10-inch vinyl, digipak CD, cassette and digital formats.
