Ohio one-woman brutal death metal project Cordyceps Corpse will release its second full-length album, Perverse Craving For Rotting Corpses, on October 9 through Gore House Productions. The announcement comes alongside the albumโ€™s first single and video, Forced Out of Existence.

Created by multi-instrumentalist Nani Porter, Cordyceps Corpse began in late 2023 as a solo project built around fast, filthy brutality. Following the Gore House Productions reissue of her debut album, From Flesh To Fluids, Porter wrote 26 songs in around six weeks before narrowing the material down to the 11 tracks that make up the new record.

Perverse Craving For Rotting Corpses takes inspiration from the brutal death metal and slam of the 1990s and 2000s, while pushing the project towards more technical riffing and greater contrast between its faster passages and heavier slam sections.

Lyrically, Porter expands the projectโ€™s approach into fuller narratives inspired by crime interrogation footage, horror films and the grim psychology of figures including Aileen Wuornos. Across the album, murder, gore, cannibalism, torture, revenge and surreal horror provide the basis for its increasingly deranged stories.

Porter describes Forced Out of Existence as beginning with slow, sustained chords before moving into its heavier slam sections.

Artwork for Perverse Craving For Rotting Corpses was created by Adam Nevler of GruesomeGraphx. The album will be available through Gore House Productions on digital and cassette formats.
