Portuguese black/death metal outfit Azzaya have released a self-released two-track digital single, Ira / Glory Upon Thee.
The first track, Ira, is taken from the bandโs upcoming full-length The Apostasy of Michael, offering a taste of where Azzaya are heading with their latest material while keeping the raw aggression of their black/death metal firmly intact.
The second track, Glory Upon Thee, looks further back. Originally written by founding guitarist Kรถrmรถs for the Tainted Hordes of Sathariel split, the song has now been rebuilt around the bandโs current bass-heavy sound and features guest vocals from Mรณnica Coelho.
Itโs an interesting pairing: one track pointing towards the bandโs next album, the other revisiting an older piece of Azzayaโs history and giving it a new treatment.
Ira / Glory Upon Thee is available now digitally.
