Swiss death metallers Nihilo have spent over two decades quietly putting in the hard yards. Spearheaded by vocalist Ragulan Vivekananthan, the band have churned out a steady stream of EPs, four full-length records, and last year’s live outing Chaos Unleashed without ever chasing fleeting trends or pretending to reinvent the wheel.

Now, they’ve joined forces with Xtreem Music to drop their fifth studio album, Abyss.

Recorded and mixed by Romano Galli and Simon Egli at HardBeat Studio, and mastered by Christophe Brandes at Iguana Studios, Abyss sticks firmly to the band’s playbook of heavy, unpretentious aggression and stoic riffing. The record also features a guest spot from Impiety’s Shyai on Dishonoured Death, with the visual side locked down by Rodrigo Pereira Salvatierra (Lurker of Chalice, Leviathan).

Abyss drops November 3rd via Xtreem Music.
