Antwerp-based death metal outfit Carnal Desecration have officially released their second studio full-length, Ancient Malediction, issuing the nine-track album via French label Thrash Records. Formed in 2018 by veterans of the Belgian underground scene, the band returns with their first major record following 2022’s Sacrificial Death and an extensive run of live supporting slots alongside acts like Incantation, Asphyx, and Skeletal Remains.

Recorded at BreezeInc Studio, the session leans into aggressive, fast-paced death metal structures anchored by sharp riffing, thrash-influenced grooves, and subtle black metal atmosphere. The production was handled directly by engineer Bob Briessinck, with final mastering completed by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio to ensure a heavy, unpolished low-end tone.

Lyrically and structurally, the material trades technical fluff for direct momentum, building on the framework of their 2020 self-titled EP while pushing the tempo faster than their previous output. The arrangements balance relentless blast beats and heavy mid-tempo grinding with sparse melodic leads designed to maintain a dark, abrasive undercurrent.

Thrash Records has issued the album across digital platforms, accompanied by physical runs limited to 300 digipack CDs and 300 vinyl LPs.

Ancient Malediction is out now.
