Finnish modern metal act Ode Of Disgrace have officially released Chronus, their latest standalone single issued in cooperation with Inverse Records. Formed in Jรคrvenpรครค in 2011, the group has continued to build on their metalcore foundations while steering their material into heavier, down-tuned territory.
The composition marks one of the first contributions from guitarist Valtteri Rautanen, who joined the group’s lineup in 2025. Musically, the track relies on low-tuned instrumentation, verse and breakdown riffs that shift into pulsating rhythms, and a melodic framework contrasted against heavy choruses.
Named after the personification of time in Greek mythology, the thematic focus centers on the inevitability and dimensionality of time alongside existential crisis. The release follows their 2025 EP Under Grey Skies and 2022’s ORBIS EP.
Chronus is out now via Inverse Records.
