A new look at Hive is here, and it takes something harmless and twists it into something that feels deeply, aggressively wrong.
Starring Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), the film follows a tightly wound teenager whose babysitting job goes off the rails when the child she’s watching disappears. And not in a ‘wandered off to the swings’ way, more into the ‘something else is now involved’ territory.
What unfolds is less a search and more a descent into madness. As reality starts to slip, she’s forced to navigate a space where nothing lines up and nobody can be truste, especially the ones who look the most harmless.
Directed by Felipe Vargas, expanding on his earlier short, Hive leans into that idea that danger doesn’t always announce itself, it just stands there, staring back at you from the sandbox.
Hive lands on Tubi April 17.
Afterwards, maybe skip taking your kids the park for a bit.
