If horror movies have taught us anything, it’s never go to any hotel, anywhere in the world, for any reason whatsoever. The Shining, 1408, Psycho for gods sake, if these aren’t signposts that say ‘Turn back, go home, and lock yourself in your bedroom’ then I don’t know what is.

It appears, however, that Adam Scott didn’t get the memo in the new trailer for Hokum.

He is a horror writer, visiting an old inn in Ireland where his parents honeymooned, returning to scatter their ashes in a place that meant the world to them. It just so happens that this place is also the haunting grounds of a witch, and it’s safe to say she isn’t happy.

Written and directed by Damian McCarthy, and also starring Peter Coonan, Austin Amelio, David Wilmot, Will O’Connell, and Florence Ordesh, alongside Adam Scott, Hokum will be in theatres from May 1st.
