There’s a moment in the new trailer for They Will Kill You where one of the characters says:

“Come on guys, it’s just one girl.”

It just so happens that his one girl is Zazie Beetz who is in the middle of murdering the shit out of every Satanist she comes across, in unique and ingenious ways. In fact, she is murdering the shit out of every Satanist she comes across so impressively and violently that the trailer even states:

“To advertise this film, we couldn’t show you the most violent parts.”

which should be enough by itself to convince you that They Will Kill You is worth your time.

According to the press blurb:

“The film unleashes a blood-soaked, high-octane horror-action-comedy in which a young woman (Beetz) must survive the night at the Virgil, a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap of a lair, before becoming their next offering in a uniquely brazen, big screen battle of epic kills and wickedly dark humor.”

Directed by Kirill Sokolov, from a script he wrote with Alex Litvak, and also starring Myha’La, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette, alongside the quite brilliant Zazie Beetz, They Will Kill You hits our screens on March 27th via Warner Bros/New Line Cinema.

And though it might be a bit early to call it, I have a feeling the horror-action-comedy might just be at the top of my film of the year list by the time 2026 moves out.
