There are some band names that tell you exactly what you’re dealing with before you even hear a note. Vomitorial Corpulence are one of those names. Emerging from Melbourne’s extreme metal underground in the early 1990s, the band became one of the early forces in Australia’s goregrind and grindcore scene before disappearing from view. Now, after almost two decades away, they are back with their new album, Martyrdomical Symphonanthem, due for release on October 30 through Rottweiler Records.

The band’s story began with appearances on influential underground releases including The Extreme Truth – Australian Metal Compilation III in 1995, followed by their debut album, Skin Stripper, in 1998. The record helped establish Vomitorial Corpulence as a major name within Australia’s developing goregrind scene, with its chaotic blend of extreme aggression and unfiltered brutality.

While guitarist Paul Green remained the constant figure throughout the band’s history, Vomitorial Corpulence’s journey was far from straightforward. Lineup changes, label shifts and geographical moves shaped the years that followed, with Karrionic Hacktician arriving in 2006 as a collection of earlier material alongside bonus tracks. The band later contributed fourteen tracks to the 6-Way Sin Decomposition compilation in 2007 before everything went quiet.

That changed earlier this year when Rottweiler Records confirmed the return of Vomitorial Corpulence. With Paul Green now handling both music and vocals, the single Beastial Devourment offered the first glimpse of what the band’s comeback would sound like, proving that the years away had done little to soften their approach.

Almost two decades on from their last release, Martyrdomical Symphonanthem sees Vomitorial Corpulence returning with a new chapter while staying true to the extreme sound that built their reputation. The album will be released on October 30 through Rottweiler Records.
