Moving to a new country can reshape more than just everyday life. For UK post-metal band Thrakian, it has become the foundation of their debut album, The Way.

Originally formed by musicians from Bulgaria and now based in Wales, the quartet channel themes of identity, displacement and resilience into a sound that combines post-metal with influences drawn from Thracian mythology. The first taste of the album arrives with Labours of Insanity, released alongside a new lyric video.

Recorded at Cardiff’s Longwave and Woodcroft Audio Studios with engineer Timothy Vincent, The Way spans 35 minutes and explores the challenges of rebuilding a life in unfamiliar surroundings, using heavy, atmospheric arrangements to reflect its themes.

After spending the last three years building a reputation on the UK live circuit, Thrakian will release The Way on October 16 through Aonair Records.
