Finnish black thrash metal band Beatrix have shared their self-titled single, the first preview of a full-length concept album that has been in development since the band’s formation in 2019.

The new track follows a recent Baltic tour with Jävelin and Night Slasher, where the song was given its first taste of the live environment before being unleashed as a single.

Built around the band’s combination of crushing riffs, haunting melodies and demonic vocals, Beatrix also introduces the central idea behind the forthcoming album. The concept follows a transformation from human flesh into something greater: a praying mantis queen born from a human body. The story also provides the origin of the band’s name.

The album is scheduled for release next year through Diabolic Might Records, with further details still to come.

Before then, Beatrix will return to the road alongside Japan’s Barbatos for five support shows across Finland and Estonia.
