Five years is a bloody long time to leave the furnace cold, but Golgothan Remains havenโt spent that stretch dormant. Born From Darkness Absolute drops on 20 November via Dark Descent Records, marking the Sydney quartetโs first full-length since 2021. Following up their 2024 MLP Bearer of Light, Matriarch of Death, this third album marks a direct, back-to-basics return focused on raw speed.
Theyโve spent the gap between records road-testing their limits alongside the likes of Dead Congregation and Concrete Winds, and that punishing live schedule bled straight into the writing process. The band set out to capture that stage energy on tape, producing some of their fastest material to date while retaining their established atmospheric elements.

The album avoids vague poetic abstractions, diving straight back into the dirt of religious hypocrisy, anti-society vitriol, conflict, blasphemy, and the occult. Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios engineered the production, while Misanthropic Art handles the visual side with Slavic folklore, Orthodox imagery, and a strangely striking colour palette.
With Born From Darkness Absolute, Golgothan Remains set up an uncompromising return for the Sydney crew this November.
