Following the fantasy-driven The Power From The End Of The World, Chilean power metal project Bravelord head in a far more personal direction with a cover of Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, originally recorded by Starship.
Performed as a duet between Bravelord founder Rodrigo Bravo and his wife, Mariangélica Moreno, the single trades tales of swords and sorcery for a heartfelt family collaboration. Their son, Diego, also appears during the closing moments, giving the recording an unmistakably personal touch.
Speaking about the song, Bravo said:
“I heard this song for the first time when I watched the movie Mannequin and it immediately got stuck in my head. When I decided to make this cover EP, it was definitely a song that had to be included… and recording it with my family was a beautiful experience.”
Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now will appear on the forthcoming EP A Chance, a collection of songs with deep personal significance for Bravo. Alongside the Starship cover, the release includes Remember, originally written during his time with Tamerlán, as well as the title track, which pays tribute to composer David Hanus, better known as Barroquejón.
Discussing the EP, Bravo said:
“David showed me A Chance when it didn’t even have a formal title. It was a song dedicated to a girl he liked, but it was just a short, minute-and-a-half track. After he passed away, I found the full version on the internet. Not only was I amazed by its quality, but I was deeply moved to have known a musical genius like David. This EP is a tribute to him and a way to show the world who he was.”
While Bravelord has built its identity around epic power metal storytelling, A Chance shifts the focus towards the music and people that have shaped Rodrigo Bravo’s life, placing family, friendship and remembrance at the heart of the project.
