French modern Death Metal unit Breeding Chaos is making a strategic push for their debut album, Distant Planets, as the record finds new life through Great Dane Records. Originally arriving in September 2024, the album is currently being reissued on vinyl and digital platforms to introduce the band’s astrophysics-inspired extremity to a broader international audience.

Based in France, Breeding Chaos avoids the typical trappings of speed saturation and genre clichรฉs, opting instead for a sound defined by massive riffs and controlled dynamics. The record functions as a sonic exploration of interstellar phenomena, balancing groove-heavy sections with melodic precision. Tracks such as Stone Cross and Birth of the Abyss highlight the band’s focus on weight and impact, creating a dense atmosphere that prioritizes immersive songwriting over technical excess.

Stylistically, the band occupies the space between the melodic discipline of early Gothenburg giants like In Flames and Dark Tranquillity and the rhythmic, progressive accuracy of Textures. This foundation is further bolstered by a dark, ambitious backbone reminiscent of Blood Incantation, resulting in a structure that is both progressive and uncompromisingly heavy.

With a sophomore album already in the development stages and a growing live presence across Europe, this reissue serves as a definitive primer for the band’s evolving sound. Distant Planets stands as a purposeful, head-driven entry into the modern Death Metal landscape, marking Breeding Chaos as a project to watch as they expand into new territories.
