Concluding a five-album conceptual arc planned since 2018, Canadian sludge metal outfit Destroy My Brains will release their final full-length record, WILT, on August 14th, 2026. Based out of Lloydminster, the trio’s upcoming seven-track release completes a sequence whose album titles spell out the project’s final name: Worthless (2018), InsignifiCan’t (2020), Lifeless (2020), Tormented (2022), and WILT (2026).

Anchored in heavy, Crowbar-inspired sludge, the album emphasizes down-tuned guitar work, mid-tempo grooves, and harsh vocal delivery centered on themes of trauma, addiction, and psychological decay. Lyrically, tracks like “OCI” and “Avulsion” examine OCD, compulsion, and emotional torment, while “Decontribute” and “Downgrade” address societal withdrawal, substance abuse, and personal breakdown. The album closes with its 11-minute title track, “Wilt,” which focuses on the lasting impacts of childhood trauma.

Vocalist and guitarist Jarret detailed the stylistic and thematic direction of the project’s final chapter:

“We already picked the titles of the albums so that all the first letters would spell WILT. We didnโ€™t reinvent anything. We sharpened, hardened, turned it up louderโ€ฆ and put some of the darkest, most meaningful lyrics we have ever done. I got deep inside to a place of furious hate and painโ€ฆ trauma I caused myself and othersโ€ฆ self-destruction, dying, drug/alcohol abuse, and hatred towards others leading to their ultimate ruin.”

WILT arrives August 14th, 2026 across major digital platforms.
