Death Metal outfit Carnation is stripping away the pretense and returning to pure violence with their latest single, Flesh-Eating Frenzy. The track is the second preview of their upcoming album, Symphony In Flesh, which is set to drop on October 16th.

The band describes the track as the shortest and fastest on the new record, a concentrated burst of d-beats and shredding that prioritizes aggression over everything else. It is the kind of old-school Death Metal that feels less like a song and more like a physical assault, driven by a vocal performance rooted in genuine hostility.

Lyrically, the song dives into a grim, obsessive concept. It follows a protagonist who believes they can absorb the life experiences and thoughts of others by consuming their bodies. Reimagined through the lens of a serial killer, the track explores a desperate, literal hunger for human connection that spirals into total depravity.

With Symphony In Flesh, Carnation seems to be making a conscious effort to sharpen their identity. They arenโ€™t just retreading the path of their early material; they are refining it. The songwriting feels more deliberate and the arrangements more cohesive, benefiting from the production polish theyโ€™ve acquired over the years without losing that essential, unhygienic grit.

The band views this era as their most complete iteration to date. They have pushed themselves to write tighter, more memorable riffs while elevating the visual side of the project to match the intensity of the music. It is a record built on the idea that you can reconnect with your roots while simultaneously outgrowing them.
