More than three decades after it was first conceived, a song written during early-’90s Gotthard sessions has finally found its way onto a record. Howling At The Moon, originally written by Jgor Gianola and the late Steve Lee, has been rediscovered and reworked by CoreLeoni for their upcoming album Generection.
Led by Gotthard founding member Leo Leoni, CoreLeoni have now released the track alongside an official music video, following the arrival of Generation Rock earlier this year. The new single continues the heavier direction of Generection, combining melodic hard rock with a more pronounced metal edge and vocals from Gent Bushpepa.
What makes Howling At The Moon particularly interesting is its place in the band’s history. The song originated during a period when Gotthard were still developing their sound, but remained unreleased until Leoni and his current bandmates revisited it for Generection. The result brings a piece of the band’s past into its present without simply leaving it in the archives.
Generection will be released on September 11 through Reigning Phoenix Music.
