After fifteen years of silence, Russian brutal death metal outfit Cranial Osteotomy is finally making a comeback. Fans of the underground have been waiting over a decade for a follow-up to their 2009 debut, Victim Of Wicked Sickness, and while the trail went mostly cold after a few demos, the band has officially resurfaced with their second full-length album, Vortex Of The Dark Knowledge.โ€‹

Set for release on July 10th via Comatose Music, the new record looks to be a massive return to form. The band hasn’t skimped on the production side either, having the album mixed at Impulse Studios and mastered at Gravestone Studios to ensure the skull-crushing sound theyโ€™re known for hits as hard as possible.โ€‹

Visuals are just as intense this time around, featuring artwork by Marco Hasmann, the same talent behind covers for heavyweights like Fleshgod Apocalypse and Kraanium. If you’ve been holding out hope for a new slab of guttural slam from these guys, the wait is almost over.

Cranial Osteotomy is back, and it sounds like theyโ€™re bringing plenty of hell with them.
