Dallas atmospheric black metal quartet Wyrm Chasm will release their self-titled debut album on October 23, bringing a decade of work together on their first full-length.

Formed in 2015 by guitarist Eric Carrasco and bassist and vocalist Stephen Jeter, the band have spent the past ten years developing a sound built around raw, desolate atmospheres, aggressive percussion and guitar work that balances bleak melodies with bursts of intensity. If you have a soft spot for the colder, more oppressive end of atmospheric black metal, Wyrm Chasm draw on familiar territory, with echoes of Winterfylleth, Wolves in the Throne Room and Emperor running through their sound.

Rather than relying on aggression alone, the bandโ€™s approach puts atmosphere front and centre, building a sound that favours bleak soundscapes and intensity alongside the heavier passages.
