Finnish Stoner Rock/Metal outfit Distressed ha e released a new video for the track Masters of Doom, taken from their latest album: Made of Stone.

Following their 2023 debut Nothing For No One, the Jyväskylä crew return heavier, broader, and clearly less interested in staying in one lane. The core is still there, but this time the band stretch things out, dragging in influences from all over the map like some kind of sonic grave robber.

Case in point: Sungod goes full ritual mode, featuring Miguel Fernandez delivering a Pemon Indian jaguar mantra, because apparently regular stoner rock wasn’t intense enough. Elsewhere, You Haven’t Found It Yet slips into an unexpected 80s-tinged mood with shades of Depeche Mode, while Agents of the Groove cruises into sleazy mid-2000s territory with a wink toward Eagles of Death Metal.

Then there’s Like Thunder, which taps into that live-wire moment when a crowd and a band lock in and the room feels like it might actually lift off. On the flip side, Big Fat Lies takes a darker turn, telling the story of a killer ditching bodies under frozen ice, served with a streak of grim humour that keeps it from going full bleak.

Distressed have been grinding it out since forming in 2020, dealing with the usual chaos, such as line-up shifts, pandemic nonsense, all the backstage headaches that try to kill a band before the music even gets a chance. Instead of folding, they’ve doubled down, building a sound that pulls from Grunge, Heavy Rock, and Alternative without locking itself into any one box.

Made of Stone feels like the result of that stubborn momentum, less about perfection, more about pushing forward and seeing how far the sound can stretch before it snaps. So far? Breaking point is not even close.
