Chilean heavy metal outfit Domic have released Messenger Of The Last Words, the final preview of their forthcoming album, Where Echoes End, due in September.

Driven by the band’s neoclassical heavy metal sound, the new single takes its lyrical inspiration from One Hundred Years of Solitude. The song centres on Amaranta Buendía, who, after learning the date of her own death, spends her remaining days collecting letters from the living to deliver to departed loved ones in the afterlife.

Beyond its literary inspiration, the release celebrates 25 years of collaboration between vocalist Paulo Domic, bassist Cristian Maturana and drummer Carlos Hernández. Maturana and Hernández previously formed the rhythm section of Chilean heavy metal act Inquisición, while Paulo Domic joined the band as lead vocalist in 2001, appearing on Metal Genocide.

Paulo Domic said the song serves as both a celebration of his long-standing friendship with Maturana and Hernández and a reminder of the importance of expressing what we feel while we still have the chance.

The release also confirms guitarist Nicolás Díaz as a permanent member of the band following his live debut supporting Graham Bonnet, completing the current lineup ahead of the arrival of Where Echoes End this September.
