Serbian underground metal project Drunemeton has officially returned with Dweller Of Carcosa, a sweeping new full-length album that seamlessly fuses pagan atmosphere, blackened intensity, old-school melodic death metal influences, and epic songwriting. Now available in digital format, the record sees the project venture into significantly darker territory, shifting its gaze toward themes of exile, forgotten histories, and ruined kingdoms.

Conceptually, the album follows the souls of the nameless and forgotten whose histories have been erased beneath the weight of collapsing civil wars and societal catastrophes. Drawing creative inspiration from the writings of Ambrose Bierce and the cosmic mythology surrounding The King in Yellow, Drunemeton transforms the mythical city of Carcosa into a symbolic final refuge beyond the mortal shore for the fallen, the wandering, and the dispossessed.

Dweller Of Carcosa proudly carries the torch for the epic, tragic, and myth-driven metal that defined much of the classic underground scene. Rather than strictly copying one specific style, the record channels the creative spirit of legendary acts like Ancient Rites, Bal-Sagoth, Menhir, Thyrfing, Borknagar, Blind Guardian, Mรฅnegarm, and Suidakra. Rounding out the release’s heroic melodies and blackened atmosphere are two prominent cover tracks: Blind Guardianโ€™s Mordredโ€™s Song and Ancient Ritesโ€™ Mother Europe, putting a definitive stamp on Drunemeton’s ambitious new chapter.
