Long-running extreme metal force Eternal Drak has announced the arrival of their sixth full-length album, The Violence of Time, set for release on July 17th, via Canadian label FirstWave. Now based in Quebec City, Canada, after originating in Latin America, the band has spent decades in the underground forging an evolving blend of Black, Thrash, and Death Metal. To anchor the announcement, the band has unveiled the albumโs first single, We Force It To Speak, signaling their most cohesive and intense expression to date.
The track serves as the opening strike for the record, establishing an atmospheric tone that roots itself in aggressive Black Metal while integrating acoustic textures and dense layering. Rather than offering a traditional concept album, Eternal Drak frames the project as a philosophical assault that presents time as a hostile, eroding force subduing human meaning. The band describes the lyrical theme of the single as a confrontation with the human obsession for explanation, reflecting on how the act of defining reality alters it beyond recognition and causes certainty to slip away.
That willingness to explore deeper intellectual weight matches the band’s ongoing sonic evolution. While drawing echoes from foundational influences like Dimmu Borgir, Watain, and Kreator, the band has spent decades experimenting with everything from classic analog distortion to modern digital textures to crystallize their definitive sound. According to Eternal Drak, each track on the new record functions as a violent thesis designed to dismantle human assumptions about causality, memory, and identity, offering a sharp mixture of catchy aggression and varied rhythm.
