The Australian Extreme Metal supergroup Faustian is officially back, signing with Apocalyptic Witchcraft for their second album, Parable of the Sewer. The band is a bit of a powerhouse lineup, featuring members from The Berzerker, Psycroptic, Werewolves, Abramelin, and The Antichrist Imperium, and theyโve just dropped a visualizer for the lead single, Broken Better.
The bandโs bassist and vocalist, Sam, didn’t hold back on the announcement, making it clear they have total trust in the label, mostly because theyโve worked with Conor Droney and the Apocalyptic Witchcraft team before. He describes the new record as a dark piece of black art that leans away from the pure speed of a band like Werewolves and instead aims for the atmospheric, blackened heights of something like Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk. Itโs a brains trust partnership between the burning heat of Australia and the cold of Scandinavia.โ
Conor Droney is just as hyped on the pairing, calling the new album another savage masterpiece from the Australian scene. If the goal was to create something as dark and surprising as the band claims, Broken Better is a hell of a starting point for whatโs coming next.
Parable Of The Sewer is out on July 24th, pre-orders are available now.
