Iconic death metal outfit Fleshcrawl have officially returned to the forefront of the extreme music scene with the release of their landmark tenth studio full-length album, Epitome of Carnage, out now via Distortion Music Group (DMG) in partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music. Unveiling a torrent of ferocious bloodshed, chaos, and power, the veteran group has celebrated the momentous launch by premiering a new music video for Chapel of Guts. The single serves as a haunting, heavy counterweight to the rest of the high-speed record, unleashing a rampage of gloom that perfectly balances the band’s signature aggression with slower, doom-laden segments.
The band shares:
“With Chapel of Guts we wanted to showcase the full spectrum of our sound. This track stands out from our more classic Swedish Death Metal tracks, making it the perfect contrast to the other singles and the album as a whole. It digs a bit deeper into the Fleshcrawl roots, combining heavy, doomy passages with intense blast beats and a lot of dynamics. It captures that darker atmosphere we wanted to have on the record. It is Death Metal with a room to breathe and then to choke.”
Rather than forcing the track into a specific direction, the band let the songwriting process develop organically, allowing the music’s natural energy to dictate its final structure. The result is a journey where a foreboding darkness awaits, building a haunting, enveloping atmosphere that swells and hurriedly subsides as the pace increases and intensity rises. As the crushing heaviness ebbs and flows through pure chaos, its ferocious brutality leaves absolutely nothing in its wake. Epitome of Carnage is available now on all major streaming services, with physical editions obtainable through Distortion Music Group.
