After 22 years away, Italian industrial metal outfit GF93 have resurfaced with Intercession, Temporary Return, a new EP that revisits three defining songs from the band’s catalogue through a darker, more atmospheric lens.

The EP rebuilds Crist Buck RU, Demonology and Lost Boy with slower tempos, cavernous reverb and a heavier emphasis on atmosphere, transforming familiar material into something that feels both reflective and unsettling while giving the songs an entirely new character.

Formed in 1996, GF93 emerged from Italy’s industrial metal underground with a sound that fused mechanical aggression, heavy riffs and electronic textures. Their debut album, Beaten, produced by Paolo Favati, laid the foundations for a career that would continue to evolve over the following decade.

Subsequent releases, including Goetia Fetish 19.93, Convulse All-Star and OSR (Own Style Research), saw the band broaden their sound while touring alongside acts such as Misery Loves Co., Earthtone9, NOFX and W.A.S.P. Along the way, GF93 gained exposure across Europe through television appearances, radio airplay and coverage in the rock press, building a reputation for constantly pushing their sound in new directions.

More than two decades later, Intercession, Temporary Return reconnects GF93 with their past while presenting those songs through a darker and more contemporary perspective, offering a fresh interpretation of material that helped define the band’s early years.
