UK Doom Metal heavyweights Godthrymm have unveiled Jewels, the latest single and video from their highly anticipated third full-length album, Projections. Scheduled for release on May 29th, via Profound Lore Records, the new track follows previously released singles Truth In My Own and The Sun Never Fell, further cementing the band’s signature style of crushing melancholy, massive riffs, and haunting melodic depth.

Projections serves as the final chapter in a trilogy that began with their 2020 debut Reflections and continued through 2023’s critically acclaimed Distortions. Since their inception, the band has established a fierce reputation as a vital force in the British doom scene, frequently celebrated for reviving the brooding spirit of early-to-mid 1990s UK doom. This creative lineage is no accident, as the group was formed and is spearheaded by metal veteran Hamish Glencross, alongside drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels, both former members of genre pioneers My Dying Bride, Solstice, and Anathema.

Rather than relying on nostalgia, the new record expands significantly on the foundations of their previous work. Utilizing an expanded lineup, Godthrymm pushes their sound into a much wider dynamic range, offering a layered and aggressive sonic landscape without sacrificing the colossal emotional weight that defines their identity. The resulting material stands as their most complex and cohesive offering to date, elevating their traditional heaviness into a sprawling, multi-dimensional narrative.
