German melodic death metal outfit Helldrifter have officially announced that work on their next musical chapter will kick off right after the summer. Revealing the news via social media, the southern German band shared that a substantial amount of new music is already taking shape behind the scenes. While the writing process is still in its infancy, the band is actively gearing up to enter the studio to follow up their latest release, Shell of Inexistence.

The announcement follows a relentlessly busy year for the group, who recently wrapped up an extensive touring schedule that included a support slot for Dutch death metal veterans Sinister, alongside various club shows across Germany. Helldrifter are currently preparing for a final run of summer festival appearances to close out their current touring cycle before shifting their focus entirely to the new material.

Though specific details about the direction of the music remain under wraps, the band is promising a massive output. Lead vocalist Billy Kolins expressed the band’s excitement for the future, noting:

“Something new is brewing, and we’re incredibly excited about what’s coming. It will take some time, but one thing is for sure: there will be a lot of new material.”

With writing sessions booked for the fall, Helldrifter are fully focused on what comes next.
