Summerโs looking a lot less sweet.
The first trailer for Ice Cream Man has arrived, with Eli Roth back behind the counter, dishing out a little more than your standard 99 Flake.
Set in a picture-perfect town thatโs about to go completely off the rails, the film follows a mysterious ice cream vendor whose sugary treats come with some deeply unpleasant side effects. Kids line up, smiles wide, but one taste later and things start to go very, very wrong.
Ari Millen takes on the role of the ice cream man himself, and even from this early look, thereโs something seriously off about him. The trailer leans heavily into horror, with children at the centre of it, amped up, unpredictable, and clearly not reacting well to whatever theyโve been served. Itโs less ‘brain freeze’ and more full on psychotic meltdown.
The footage doesnโt hold back either, throwing in flashes of gore and violence, including one moment where a teacher finds themselves on the very wrong end of a classroom uprising.
The cast stacks up with Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh OโReilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, and Charlie Storey, rounding out a town thatโs clearly not prepared for whatโs rolling in with the ice cream truck, while Roth directs, produces, and stars, working from a script he co-wrote with Noah Belson, based on a story they developed together.
The film will roll out across 2,000 North American screens this summer through Iconic Events Releasing, marking Rothโs first release under his The Horror Section banner.
Ice Cream Man hits theaters August 7th.
Bring your sweet tooth.
Just, maybe donโt trust the sprinkles, yeah?
