Milan-based solo project Inqvisitor, the brainchild of Cliff Scott, best known for his work in Meursault Omega and Sorrowtale, has surfaced with a new single, The Azoth Ritual, ahead of an upcoming seven-track album titled Sublunar Attunement.

Operating out of Vespertine Studios where Scott produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire effort himself, Inqvisitor trades in a murky blend of blackened sludge, distorted noise patterns, and dense, ritualistic atmospheres. Rather than relying on standard doom metal tropes, the project digs into esoteric themes of alchemical transformation, spiritual mechanics, and what Scott frames as the hidden chasm of human existence.

The new single, The Azoth Ritual, serves as a prime example of that framework, combining wall-of-sound riffing and garbled, distorted vocals with themes built around the seven rays of Azoth and the union of opposing forces. The resulting self-released record promises a raw, experimental form of blackened noise that feels as uncomfortably claustrophobic as the themes it explores.

Sublunar Attunement drops November 21st.
